Alot of maps are static, in 2D, geometrically accurate depictions of 3D space. Some can also be 3D and interractive. Although maps usually depict geographical areas they can infact represent any space - for eg brain mapping.
Travel Guides:
A travel guide is book for travellers. It offers the reader details about geographical areas and tourist attractions. In recent years travellers tend to refer to websites instead of travel guides. However to have a travel guide sitting in your pocket while away can be a great source of help and comfort in foreign lands.
It also usually contains details about hotels, lodgings, restaurants with reviews and descriptions. Maps and historical details are also often included.
